Joe Clegg

Joe Clegg is a drummer and musical director based in the UK.

As musical director for Ellie Goulding, he has crafted and developed her live show since the very beginning of her career—from the first ever gig with a live band in 2009, to her critically acclaimed Delirium World Arena Tour in 2016. With Ellie, Joe has performed on major TV shows and festival stages across the globe as her touring drummer. Joe also played on Ellie’s double platinum debut ‘Lights,’ repackage ‘Bright Lights,’ and triple platinum second album ‘Halcyon.’

In 2018, Joe took on the role of Live Music Producer for the Mumford & Sons Delta World Tour and has also had the pleasure of providing musical direction for Clean Bandit since 2016.

Joe has also worked as a musical director for Years & Years, Sigrid, Aurora, Alunageorge, Becky Hill, DJ Fresh, and Ben Khan. Developing live shows and creating arrangements for TV and radio performances.

Always keen to pass on his experience, Joe has taught masterclasses at music colleges and events internationally. In 2019 he launched his first online video training series ‘You’re So Hybrid - Ableton Live for Drummers’.

Available for in-person and remote tracking sessions, Joe’s meticulous approach and unique sonic signature means he is also in increasing demand as a studio drummer and Producer, with his first solo EP set to be released in November 2019.

He is endorsed by, and has close working relationships with, Gretsch Drums, Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, Remo drum skins, DW hardware, Roland Electronic Percussion, Ableton, Novation, Focusrite, Dynaudio, EarthQuaker Devices, JH Audio, JHS pedals, Native Instruments, and Warm Audio.
